Brachypelma Smithi
Brachypelma Smithi ( Mexican Red Knee ) is a terrestrial tarantula. They have orange or red knees. They are a big species of tarantulas and are native to the south western region of Mexico. Even though these tarantulas produce venom they are often kept as pets. They grow slowly but females can live up to 30 years! Males can live to about 5 years.
Behaviour
Like most tarantulas they kick urticating hairs from their abdomen and back legs if they are disturbed, rather than bite. They are very docile.

Grammostola Rosea
Grammostola Rosea ( Mexican Red Knee ) are probably the most common species of tarantula
available in pet shop today. This species are found in Bolivia and Argentina. Females live as long as 15-20 years. It is possible that they live for longer than 20 years
Behaviour
They are also very docile. They flick urticating hairs from their abdomen and legs but they do bite sometimes if they think they are being attacked.
